Birdie Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Birdie is an independent, unofficial client for X (formerly Twitter). It is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp. This policy explains how Birdie handles information and how that differs from X's own services.

Information handled on your device

Birdie stores your signed-in X account and session credentials in your device's Keychain. Session credentials include authentication cookies and tokens used to make requests to X. The Keychain record is configured for this device only. The embedded X sign-in browser also stores website cookies and other website data separately from Safari.

Your app preferences are stored locally. Birdie may cache images, video, and network responses on your device to display content and improve playback. Image cache controls are available in Settings.

Connections to X and other websites

Signing in takes place on X's website within the app. Birdie uses your X session to connect directly to X and its media services to load your feed, search posts and people, view profiles and media, and perform actions you request, such as following or unfollowing an account. These requests send the information necessary for the action, such as your session credentials, search terms, requested content identifiers, and normal network information including your IP address.

X processes information under its own Privacy Policy. X's sign-in pages and services may use cookies or collect usage and device information under that policy. External links you open are governed by the destination website's policies.

Information received by Birdie's developer

Birdie does not send your X password, session credentials, feed, searches, or browsing history to servers operated by its developer. The app does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not sell personal information.

This does not mean X receives no information: the app needs to communicate with X to provide its features, as described above.

Signing out and managing information

Use Settings → X Account → Sign Out to remove Birdie's saved session credentials and account from the Keychain and clear the app's embedded X website data and shared network cache. Image or media caches can require separate removal using the available cache controls. Signing out of Birdie does not delete your X account or information already held by X. Manage or delete that information through your X account settings and X's privacy controls.

Support requests

If you choose to contact us through the Birdie support page, the support website stores the question and any name or email address you provide using InstantDB. Vercel hosts the support website and may process normal connection information to deliver it. Providing a name or email is optional. Public questions and replies are visible to other visitors. Use the private question option for information you do not want listed publicly, and keep the private reply link secure.

Please do not include passwords, session cookies, authentication tokens, or other sensitive account information in a support request. You can use the support page to ask privacy questions or request removal of information you submitted there.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Birdie's behavior changes. The date above identifies the latest version. For questions about Birdie or this policy, visit the Birdie support page.
